Building a business will be one of the toughest things that you will ever do. The road will be long, hard and bitter, but success has to come eventually. Especially if you don't give up.
It really takes hard work and sacrifice in the face of humiliation, defeat, disappointment and sometimes tears. Actually lots of tears, regardless if you're a man or a woman.
Before success comes you will have countless moments of wanting to give up and walking away in disgust. Your heart will be broken as many times as promises made to you will be broken. You will at times look at your effort and all that you can see will be a path of shattered dreams, bitter disappointment and of almost making it. There will be days of profound regret. Especially when you look at your children when they have to without important things that they really need.
There will be moments when you get so close to success that you will smell it, only to have it snatched away from you. There will be days that you'll wonder what the hell did you get yourself into and finding a job seems like the only sensible thing to do.
You will look around you and it will seem as if everyone else is on top of their games and have things under control, that is everyone but you. Ask Facebook and they will tell you this. You will feel like a miserable loser, a complete failure who will never accomplish anything.
You will yearn for the stability of a steady income, aka a salary, and hope with all your heart for that one breakthrough, that one client that can change things for you, who of course at that moment is hidden so deep that you have no idea how or where to look. This is what it takes to build a business from scratch, and much much more.
You'll only reach success when you don't give up. You have to keep on going. You have to keep on pushing. You have to keep on knocking. You have to keep on moving, even if you don't know which way is forward, or what the next step will be.
Don't get in it for the money, you're not going to make it. Search for that thing that make you come alive inside and make that your business.
For years I've been chasing the money and ignoring the dream. And I was miserable, until I started chasing the dream. I have less possessions now than I've ever had in my life. I'm doing without things that I never thought I would be able to survive without.
But this right here is my dream, and this is what will lead me to success. Is it easy? Hell no, it can be damn hard, but I know what my goals are. And to me that was the beginning of the road to success. I'm not there yet, but I'm certainly on my way. I want to leave a wonderful legacy for my children, and that is my ultimate goal.
